W l K is a two-step process. During the first step, a corneal resection, Dr. Boothe makes an incision in the cornea and creates a thin, hinged Flap, an entryway to the tissues inside.

The second step reshapes the cornea. In order to see clearly, the cornea must bend or refract light correctly on the retina. The retina then converts light to impulses sent to the brain, which recognizes these signals as images. If the cornea is irregularly shaped, it will not focus light on the retina correctly and the image will be blurry. the goal of glasses, contact lenses, and LASIK surgery is to reduce or eliminate vision problems by refocusing light correctly on the retina. Prior to Dr. Boothe's adopting Intra LASlK technology, during the First step of W l K surgery, Dr. Boothe would have used a microkeratome to cut the hinged flap. Then the used a laser system that delivered a quick burst of light to reshape the cornea.
Even with an excellent surgeon, however, there is a possibility of infection because of the surgical cutting tool. There is also the risk of inconsistency in the results achieved from traditional BootheLASIK.

Intra LASIK is the bladefree alternative. This Fast-pulsed laser creates a perfect corneal flap. The result is a precise, computer-guided incision with a greater consistency of flap thickness and a reduced potential for complications. Recent clinical studies suggest that Intra LASlK may be 100 times safer than traditional LASIK.
In step two of Intra LASIK, Dr. Boothe uses one of seven FDA-approved scanning excimer lasers to achieve the best vision correction possible.
